We have all heard the old saying,"it has to happen sometime".Well UNCLE PETRIKA has done what he has been threatening to do for most of his career.What a way to win the INTER-DOMINION TROTTERS CROWN. Trainer Lance Justice bounced the gelded son of BRITEWELL to the front at barrier rise and was simply too good.It was a typical L.Justice front running effort,with a last mile in 1.59.5 taking that vital sprint capacity from the favoured backmarkers.A TOUCH OF FLAIR and WHATS UNDER MY KILT were noble in defeat,but its UNCLE PETRIKA who's going into the record books.The money stays in Adelaide as "UNCLE" is owned by Colin Croft who has the evergreen superstar,SOKYOLA under the care of L.Justice as well..

]]> While WILLYGOBYE's sire is the conventionally trot bred USA import,WILLY LAUXMONT,his dam,GYPSY DELMER is by ADIOS DELMER imp,a son of the PACING SUPER SIRE "ADIOS",sire of Champions and sire of sires.The dam of ADIOS DELMER was ISOLDE,a daughter of NIBBLE HANOVER,(Pacer)who figures often in the pedigree of these "left field " trotters.Usually,the more often NIBBLE HANOVER appears, the better the ultimate progeny trots.
The dam of GYPSY DELMER was NOMADIC by CANNY SCOT imp (got pacers and trotters),and her dam was CARLS GYPSY,by CARL RAIDER from MAUREEN LOUISE (and,it gets tricky here) by LOUIS DIRECT imp (Unhoppled Pacer).
CARL RAIDER obviously drew from the trotting side of his dual gaited sire's (RAIDER imp) gene pool to enhance his dam,CARLOTTA REDMOND's undiluted square gaiting blood..So,there you have it.Champion pacing stallions,one of which was unhoppled,and a dual gaited horse,(RAIDER imp 1.59 pacing...2.01 trotting) who gave untold benefit to the Australian breed,all mixed up in the dam line of an 8yo raceway trotter which rated a "not too shabby" 2.06.3 for the 2647 metres on Tuesday.
