Bright spot of the week for anyone with internet access is the appearance of ...www.trotstv.com.au...A product of the NSW Harness Authority,the site is race and trial replay heaven.Only in its infancy,trotstv currently supplies Menangle trials,with the trial available about ten minutes after it is run,and race replays of interest.In the very near future race replays will be available for all NSW meetings.The format is MP4 which makes the service available for Ipads,Ipods and Iphones.Its a super tool for the avid punter and a source of great pleasure for someone who likes to re-run races in spare time kick-back mode.The picture is consistently good..

When the going gets tough,the tough get going...the same could be said for Fighting Chance,a six year old US import with attitude.At his first Australian start at Albion Park on Tuesday,this veteran of just 21 races in the US (1:54 and $22,133 for 5 wins 5 seconds and 5 thirds) racked up No 1 by 6 metres in a mile rate of 1:57.4. The last time this horse hit the headlines was as a marathon swimmer during the Lockyer Valley disaster. Spending a day swimming for your life is a big effort indeed.Fighting Chance was accompanied on his swim by Eden Burst,set to race next week.EB was in the first load of racehorses which Cold Mountain bought to Australia via New Zealand some three years back.He has had his share of problems,but,if trainer Murray Sullivan has him right,he will dent a few reputations on his way through the classes..Cold Mountain Stud is back,dried off,and ready to churn out winners!!.

New prizemoney schedules were announced by Racing Queensland Ltd to re-slice the pie when the Monday meetings at Albion Park disappear on June 30.The coming financial year sees us go to 5 x 8 race only TAB meetings and effectively reduces our earning opportunities by 550 races.Non Tab racing will be conducted at Marburg and Redcliffe on alternate Saturdays (day meetings).Albion Park Saturday night will run 7 races at $11,000 and 1 at $14,000.Gold Coast Friday 8 at $6,000,Albion Park Tuesday,8 at $5,000,Gold Coast Thursday,8 at $4,000 and Redcliffe,8 at $3001..Marburg/Redcliffe Saturday,5 at $1501.Looks good,and has been endorsed by a number of sports more influential players,but is it.Under the law of "dog eat dog",which will soon prevail,some of the more influential players might soon wish for less ferocious competition than that which they will face.Even worse..RQLtd has slashed the Q-bred budget by $1 million and in one stroke has taken the Queensland breeding industry from concern to crisis!!

Another bright spot has been the performance of Vinnies Adventure since trainer Al Barnes put Cassie Saunders in the sulky.Cass and Vinnie have hit it off in fine fashion with the combo's five starts returning three wins a second and a third. I think it's like Demtel..but wait,there's more!!
